Dates & Deadlines
On the following page you will find information on current deadlines and dates. The winter semester always begins on October 1, the summer semester on March 1.
Registration phase
- First registration phase (main registration phase): 10.02.2024, 10:00 to 18.02.2024, 23:59
- Second registration phase (allocation of remaining places): 23.02.2024, 10:00 to 27.02.2024, 23:59
- Deregistration is possible until 31.03.2024, 23:59.

Please note the different registration deadlines for the Teacher Training Program PP and the Teacher Training Program Ethics:

Payment of tuition/ ÖH fee & admission
The admission and payment deadlines can be found on the Studying at the University of Vienna website.
Registration and deregistration deadlines for course examinations
- Registration for examinations: up to 3 days before the examination
- Deregistration for examinations: up to 24 hours before the examination
- Exception: a 7-day deadline applies for the two STEOP courses, as these are major module examinations.
Processing deadlines
Deadlines for processing applications stipulated by study law:
- Recognition of examinations: 2 months
- Relevant prior achievements: 1 month
- Transfer to the current curriculum: 3 months
- Final documents: 1 month
- Examination pass: 1 month
- Review period for Master's thesis: 2 months
- Entry of grades: 1 month
