Admission

Admission to the Master's programme in History and Philosophy of Science (HPS) is organised by the Admission Office. The Studies Service Center Philosophy only provides information on the degree programmes and is not responsible for admission.

Important information regarding admission

  • Admission to degree programmes and specifics regarding admission criteria and requirements of prospective international/English-speaking students (with no or limited German language proficiency, i.e. not at language level C1) are to be determined individually, i.e. on a case-by-case basis during the admission procedure
  • Please make sure to contact us before requesting admission. Details regarding your course of studies and possible course/module choices need to be specified before admission to guarantee a successful completion of your studies!
  • Please note that some documents required for admission may need to be legalised or translated to German prior to admission. Information regarding legalisation and translations can be found at the Admission Office website
  • Prospective students from non-EU/EEA countries and/or holding a degree from universitites in non-EU/EEA countries may need to hand in additional documents. More detailed information is provided in the general information section
